A follow up on the Dreamweaver Course; March 4th and 5th.
Tutorials and additional materials:
One is on working with frames. We didn’t go into full discussion on working in frames and I even forgot about saving the entire frameset so that you do not loose your work [again, so sorry Jeff]. If you are at all interested in frames, you should take take a look at the tutorial, should only take you about 30 mins + or – to complete. If you’re not sure if you want to use frames or not, jump to the last page to a link of an example of the final result. Jeff, if you still have your files that you were working on at the end of the class, you’ll see how they can still be used by the end of the tutorial.
One is on getting WMV files to play properly using HTML. Ideally you want to use either Quicktime or Flash files [.MOV and/or .SWF/.FLV] but if you only have WMV to work with here’s the simple code to use. Last night, my husband and I went through quite a few options and possible scenarios you may encounter…this was the best code to work in nearly all browsers.
The final one is an overview on what optimizing your images for the web actually is. It is difficult to give you a step by step tutorial on how to do this since you are using your own image editing programs. I always use Photoshop, Illustrator or at times Fireworks.
I will have another on video file compression and standard player sizes for you later in the week.
